In 1882 a Methodist Protestant Church was organized at the Piney Grove School
House, where a small group had been meeting for Sunday School for several years.
However, the oldest written
church record deviates the church name from the Road and School and gives the church name as Pine Grove Methodist Church.
A one-room framed building was built on the present site in 1892. A larger building was finished in 1924.
A brick veneer Educational Building was completed in 1962. The present sanctuary and classrooms were built in 1982.
